Most people don't realize it,  but the name "EARL" is the most photographed name in the TV and Motion Picture Entertainment Industry. Why?  Because for more than 40 years almost every Major Motion Picture and TV Show has used a Don Earl Slate.

The Standard Format Don Earl Slate is known as the "Classic Hollywood Slate".  Don Earl Slates are widely recognized as the Original, Premier, Industry Standard in the design and production of Director Slates/Clapperboards, Front Boxes and related products.  Camera Assistants around the world have been choosing the Don Earl Slate since the early 1970's and most still prefer it today.

The Don Earl Front Box with Locking Brackets  (Locking Brackets can also be purchased separately)

The Don Earl Standard Size/Format Slate - Reverse Screen Printed or Reverse Engraved on the back of a Standard Size/Format Clear slate for a smooth front.  Custom Engraving and Photo-quality Artwork is available on Clear boards and Custom Engraving is available on White boards.      

Insert Slates on white or Clear boards   (same as Standard Size/Format Slates)

Faceplates: TS-C, TS-1, TS-2, TS-3 (on Clear boards only, otherwise, same as Standard Size/Format)

All Slate/Clapperboard types (except Faceplates which only come in Clear) are available in white and clear. White Boards are Engraved on the front. All Slates on Clear Boards (including Faceplates) are reverse engraved to give a smooth front finish and can have Custom Engraving and Custom Artwork added. Most of our customers prefer the Clear boards for the smooth front finish.

Black and White and Color Gradient Clapper sticks for standard sized slates and shortened black and white sticks for insert slates are available 

We stand behind all of our work and are known throughout the industry as the  Industry Standard  for having the highest quality products aailable. Many of our customers continue to use Slates and Front Boxes they bought from us as much as 25 and even 30 years ago. (Much of the repeat business we get is from customers who are replacing their much coveted Don Earl Slate or Front Box because it was stolen.)  Because of this, we recomend that when purchasing a slate, ask if it is one that can be engraved on the back and if it is we will engrave your name on the back of the slate for free.
